The Problem
Workoo needed a professional networking mobile app built from the ground up, with a small team working in an Agile structure across UI, backend, and security concerns simultaneously.
Approach
Contributed across the full stack — a React Native frontend communicating with a Node.js API backed by MongoDB. Worked within an Agile team structure, picking up UI implementation, backend logic, and security considerations as the sprint required rather than staying in a single lane.
Tech Decisions
React Native was the right call for a small team needing to ship an iOS app without maintaining a separate native codebase — it let the team move faster with shared logic across concerns. MongoDB's flexible schema suited a product still finding its shape during early development cycles.
Outcome
Shipped to production with CI/CD via GitLab, deployed on Heroku. The experience working across the full stack in a real Agile environment — not just the technical output — shaped how I approach ownership on every project since.
